Homeopathic remedies can be used for many different symptoms. From colds and flu to indigestion, allergies, aches and pains, these inexpensive remedies deal with a range of symptoms, for a very reasonable price. There are also several that are good for travel, especially having to do with jet lag and motion sickness.
One time while driving on a winding, mountainous road, I became aware of my backseat passenger not feeling very well. After taking one more curve, the passenger “chucked her cookies”. At that point I found a spot on the road to pull over and stop. The person felt very embarrassed, but wasn’t prepared for any kind of motion sickness, nor was I. I didn’t particularly like having caused that incident either, just by going on a beautiful, mountainous drive. Ever since, I take along a homeopathic remedy for motion sickness whenever I travel, whether by air, or ground.
One of the other homeopathic remedies I always carry when traveling is Nux Vomica for any indigestion, nausea or vomiting. It is also good for at least another dozen symptoms.
Carbo vegetabilis is good for digestion, heartburn, gas and indigestion, as well as another ten symptoms. I consider it essential for traveling, especially when eating out in different types of restaurants, and in different countries.
Arnica Montana is known best for dealing with aches, pains and bruises. It also is available as a cream. Symptoms from surgeries, shock or trauma as well as many other incidents, can be alleviated by this homeopathic remedy. I prefer to use it versus pain medication, after sitting on long flights, which can cause me muscle stiffness. It is indicated for a wide range of symptoms.
Byronia is used for cough, fever, head cold, and flu. It also helps with joint pain, stomach ache, constipation and diarrhea to name a few others.
Veratrum Album is good for headaches, heat exhaustion, cramps, menstrual cramps, constipation, diarrhea, and vomiting. This is also used for many other symptoms.
Podophyllum Peltatum is used for diarrhea with intestinal growling and pain. It is extremely handy, especially when needed! Cocculus indicus is used for motion sickness. It is sometimes mixed in with other homeopathic remedies, to deal with all the symptoms of jet lag.
Each remedy may have up to about 20 different symptoms that it handles. There are many more than what I have listed in this article. Most supermarkets or health stores will have homeopathic remedies, as well as easy guides, to help you figure out which one will work for your exact symptoms. These items can also be easily purchased on the internet.
Manufacturers such as Boiron and Hylands also offer combinations to treat something specifically such as allergies, sinusitis, colds, influenza, stress relief and sleeplessness. Their small vials and packages make it very easy for you to carry when traveling. These remedies are also available in many different countries.
