I wear hats when I travel for many different reasons. I wear a hat to keep the sun off my face, or to keep the rain off my face. I wear them to keep my head warm when it’s cold. But I never thought that I would be happy to have a hat on one time, when I was walking down a tree-lined street in London.
I had just been at Trafalgar Square on a nice, spring day. It was packed with people and there was a lot of entertainment at different spots. There was also a huge crowd of pigeons gathering wherever people decided to give them food. I walked through the square and continued on down the street.
The leaves had already bloomed on the trees, and the birds were chirping. It was a very enjoyable walk. Then after arriving at a restaurant, and taking off my hat, I noticed that some birds had decorated it with some of their droppings! The nerve!! But I was ever so happy that I had been wearing a hat, and never thought of it for that use!
So remember to pack a hat when traveling. There are a variety of different collapsible and washable ones especially made for packing. Some of my preferences are in the links that are listed below. I prefer Tilley hats for hiking, boating, river rafting, paddleboarding and other outdoor activities. This is especially because they have two straps, to prevent the wind (from any direction), from blowing off the hat. The Walleroo hats come in a nice variety of colors & styles, and have a cord inside with which you can tighten or loosen the band. They are very comfortable, which also makes them great for travel or everyday use.
Below I have list some links for hats. Click on the links that interest you in order to find a hat. If you don’t see the specific type or color, then type exactly what you are looking for in the search box at the top and click on it, and then the appropriate page will come up.
