Depending on what kind of climate you’re traveling to, you might want to inquire if there’s air-conditioning and/or heat at the accommodations. Be sure to request that the thermostat will be set prior to your arrival, so that the place will be at a comfortable temperature when you arrive.
I do not want you to go through an experience I had, of no heat turned on at the accommodations, especially when arriving late at night, and finding out that the radiant heat takes about six hours to warm up the house! You don’t want to end up sleeping in 60°F temperatures! (Fortunately an electric space heater was then supplied, which helped warm up the bedroom.)
On the other hand, you might be arriving in hot weather and find yourself sleeping in 96° F temperature while the air conditioner is cranking away, to get the temperature down to a comfortable zone!
It all works out in the long run, but be prepared and be flexible. As I say “Always expect the unexpected,” and then you won’t be surprised!

Yes, I expected the owner to have it livable, but she didn’t.
And I didn’t think to ask in advance. This is a good reminder to do so.

It’s always good to ask about things in advance!
