If you are arriving at your accommodations at night when it’s dark, request that the owners or host turn on the front door light so you won’t be stumbling around in the dark! I always “hate” when there is no light and then I’m dropping bags to try to find my mobile phone, to turn on its flashlight!
Also, it’s always good to know where the fuse box or circuit breaker box is located. You never know when something will “go”, and that has to be handled. Unfortunately, one time I experienced the fuse box being locked up in a garage, and had to call someone to come fix it. While in the meantime, there was no electricity in one of the areas.
Other accommodation requests, whether a vacation rental or home exchange, are asking to be informed where supplies like spare lightbulbs are kept, and any candles for potential emergencies, like power outages. This may not happen often, but if it does, then you are prepared!

Very good advice.
